Color Sorting Activity in The Science Teacher

March 13, 2013 - 2:49pm -- Rob Wallon

The March 2013 issue of The Science Teacher features the colored candy sorting activity in an article titled, “What color do you see?” (p. 62-65). Lesson plans and student handouts for the activity can be found on the Lesson 2 web page, which is a part of the curriculum unit titled Do you see what I see? Light, sight, and natural selection. If you like these curriculum materials check out Lesson 3, which explores the optics principles involved in human vision. Additional lessons that help students develop a more sophisticated understanding of color perception are available on the unit web page.

Also, keep your eyes on the Project NEURON web site for new videos that will help teachers make connections between biology and physics in this unit.
