Kids playing at the Orpheum Children's Science MuseumAs an extension of Project NEURON, we have additional projects, some of which receive supplemental funding.

BrainCASE

Learn more about our NIH SEPA-funded extension project, BrainCASE (Computer-Aided Student Exploration), for creating games where students can explore and learn core science concepts.

FIND Orphy

FIND Orphy is a collaboration between the University of Illinois and the Orpheum Children's Science Museum in Champaign, IL. We have held Sunday afternoon sessions at the Orpheum highlighting work done by University of Illinois neuroscientists. This past summer, Project NEURON co-hosted a summer camp for elementary age students at the Orpheum during which students explore core neuroscience concepts.

Neuroscience Day

Neuroscience Day was an outreach program developed and implemented through the collaborative efforts of the UNMC-SEPA program at the University of Nebraska and Project NEURON. Over 200 students and nearly 20 teachers from seven different schools in Nebraska and South Dakota participated in the event. Students who attended had a chance to do a number of different engaging educational activities through which they learned about neuroscience.
