Engaging students in first and second hand data analysis: The importance of questioning strategies.
This paper focuses on how two teachers use curriculum materials to stimulate whole class and group discussions regarding first- and second-hand data analysis. Findings show that open questions most frequently lead to connected dialogic interactions, engaging students in class discussions and increasing student participation.
