Project NEURON at NSTA 2013

Check out Project NEURON at the 2013 NSTA National Conference in San Antonio, TX. We will be presenting three sessions.

On Thursday, April 11, Project NEURON presents “Using a Project-based Science Unit to Link Next Generation Science Standards, Common Core Standards, and Student Engagement” from 8:00–9:00 AM in the Marriott Riverwalk, Alamo Salon D. Attend this session to “learn how to engage high school students with activities focusing on how chemicals found in the environment and everyday foods affect the brain, development, and behavior.”

Later on Thursday, April 11, Project NEURON presents “Engaging ELLs in a High School Project-based Science Unit” from 9:30–10:30 AM in the Marriott Riverwalk, Alamo Salon C. Attend this session to “encounter strategies and techniques to support English language learners in a high school project-based science unit that focuses on developing content knowledge and language proficiency.”

Finally, on Saturday, April 13, Project NEURON presents “Incorporating the Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning Framework into an Engaging Computer Game and Project-based Science Curriculum Unit” from 12:30–1:30 PM in the Marriott Riverwalk, Alamo Salon C. Attend this session to learn how to “engage high school students through an interactive computer game that uses a claim, evidence, and reasoning assessment framework and traumatic brain injury as context.”
